Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) 19c is no longer supported in Standard Edition 2

This was one of the big licensing changes for Oracle Database version 19c.

Companies using Oracle Database 12c or 18c in Standard Edition 2 with RAC should choose other paths to upgrade to Oracle Database 19c version. See below for some options:

Migrate Database to Autonomous Database on OCI (Cloud)

  • Upgrade from Standard Edition 2 to Enterprise Edition in addition to purchasing the Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) option

  • Convert Oracle RAC to single instance mode

In the official document on licensing the Oracle database, it is possible to evidence that the Real Application Cluster (RAC) is listed as not supported in the Standard Edition:
